Last weekend I was lucky enough to see the documentary “Ten Billion” by Stephen Emmot, it made me think about sustainable consumption. Our individualistic culture that leads us to behave as compulsive consumers. I have reflected on the lack of group consciousness and that we should constantly remind ourselves of how important is the value of mutual respect.
Clearly the ecosystem is imbalanced by the ambitious capital immerses on each individual. We will exhaust our natural resources in a short time, and therefore we are condemning human species to extinction.
With effort and intelligence human being should be able to avoid self-destruction, we should avoid behaving like a parasitic virus that ends up dying because it destroys its host.
We should try to consume only what is necessary in order to build a better sustainable world.
